Optional In-Game Advertising will be introduced to City of Heroes. Today NCSoft announced in a press release their partnership with Double Fusion to provide optional in-game advertising for City of Heroes. Brian Clayton, General Manager at NCsoft NorCal, estimates that this will go live some time this summer. Initially, they are limiting ads to the exact same fictitious billboard placements that are already in the game. To get a better idea of this, check out these screenshot examples.

This is the official info. But in a sudden we a couple of interesting questions come in our mind:

• "Initially" means that if the system is successfull more placements will be appearing?
• The optionallity will means a penalty in the suscription fees of those do not want to see the ads?

City of Heroes dispondrá de Publicidad en Juego Opcional. Hoy NCSoft anunció en una nota de prensa su asociación con Docuble Fusion para proveer de publicidad de juego opcional a City of Heroes. Brian Clayton, General Manager at NCsoft NorCal, estima que empezará en algún momento de este verano. Inicialmente se limitarán los anuncios a los mismos paneles de anuncios ficticios que ya existen en el juego. Para tener una idea mejor de esto, echad un vistazo a los pantallazos adjuntos.

Esta es la información oficial. Pero inmediatamente se nos plantean un par cuestiones interesantes:

• ¿El "Inicialmente" indica que si el sistema tiene éxito pueden aparecer muchos más anuncios en Paragon City?
• ¿La opcionalidad significará una penalización en la suscripción para los que no quieran ver los anuncios?
